NOMINATED BY SKY TELEVISION'S WEDDING.TV WEDDING FILM OF THE YEAR 2008

Welcome to weddingfilming.co.uk, my name is Steve Dibben and I founded The Wedding Filming Company in 1983.
At that time, not many people had even thought a wedding could be filmed and edited together with music and titles, now it has become a requisite to have the day filmed.
We have always maintained a lead over the competition by advancing our equipment, our skills, creativity and being able to think several steps ahead when filming, coupled with our many years experience and now with 25 years of creating beautiful films, our clients can feel comfortable that we offer everything you need to produce the film that represents yourselves, your family and your friends faithfully, naturally and unobtrusively to create such a lasting memory which will gain in value as the years pass. Ask our clients from the eighties!

So, you are inviting someone you don’t know to the most important day of your life, you are asking them to capture the essence of what the day means to you both, do you think you should leave it to an amateur? a friend? a company that is cheaper? You need to ask some fundamental questions, firstly, how will they work on the day?

Our presence on the day is very friendly and unobtrusive, which allows for natural shots and not the staged, tacky, badly composed, and set up look you get with many other companies. What might seem a great website or cheap prices, will not necessarily reflect in the actual quality of the work. (get several examples). DEMO PAGE

When we meet/speak with potential clients, we ask how they see the day, how they have planned it in their mind, their feelings and thoughts, what are the expectations, we need to know these elements to structure the day in the filming to give you the 30% that you witnessed and the other 70% you will missed, and then in the edit, couple that with the music you have provided we can give you back the emotions you felt on the day and more each time you watch it.

Combine our creative filming with our award winning editing and flexible options and you have found the right company to produce a film that will give you pleasure for you and future generations to come.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Steve Dibben.

Why Should I...?

Many times people ask, "Why should I bother having my wedding filmed/videotaped?" - "I'm going to have my picture album to look at." The answer to this is very simple: How much would it be worth to you to see a film of your parents' wedding, your grandparents', or even your great-grandparents' wedding? Ten years ago, nobody would have considered not hiring a photographer. The photographer was the only choice for capturing wedding moments. Today, however, you have more choices.

Voices From a Bygone Time

If you could add sound and motion to your still pictures, you'd call this video. If you had a choice between seeing pictures of your grandparents' wedding, or actually seeing what your grandparents were doing during their wedding day, and hearing their voices again from a bygone time, which one would you choose?

Your Children and Grandchildren
If you want your children and grandchildren to know about your wedding day, don't you think you'd like them to be able to hear your vows, enjoy your wedding day music, cry along with you as you did when you and your father danced together, and laugh with you and your guests as you enjoy the day's

festivities?

A finely crafted video will not only capture the essence of the day, the sights, sounds, and emotions, but will be cherished by your family now and for years to come. Your wedding video film is forever.

A Blessed Union
We consider the wedding day to be one of the highest points in a couple's life. It is the union of two different families and the creation of an entirely new dynasty
.

The Golden Age
Since the dawn of mankind people have attempted to record and preserve images from life that they felt most important to them. The cavemen from Lascaux used natural pigments and crude handmade brushes to preserve their memories. Our means are more elegant and sophisticated - digital broadcast cameras, small and inconspicuous yet capable of capturing breathtaking video: high quality audio from the day's sound and for the final edit, state of the art editing suites to create wedding memories that will last for generations to come. We believe that thanks to the extreme power, high quality, and ease of use of our existing digital technology, the time right now is the golden age of wedding filming.

Like a Gentle Spring Rain
Memories are fleeting things, passing through our lives like a spring rain. So much will happen, that you will only remember bits and pieces of your wedding day. The wedding videographer is your portal back to your special day, the one who remembers the kaleidoscope of your wedding festivities, the one who remembers for those yet to come. Isn't it worth it for you to capture all these events of your truly most unforgettable moment? We say, "Absolutely! - You cannot be without it!!

How We Work, The Consultation
We have an initial consultation with the client either in person or via email, where we show examples of previously edited weddings. We also take this opportunity to determine the couple's specific wishes for their wedding video filming, this is where you see why we are the right choice for your day.

Your Contract
Once a couple has chosen us for their wedding, a contract is drawn, stipulating what packages and options are selected. Anytime up to a week prior to the wedding, we ask you to contact us at a time which is convenient, which helps us with logistics and allows the client the opportunity to add any special event coverage not discussed in the contract or in previous meetings.

Your Rehearsal
Next comes the filming of the rehearsal (when applicable - depends on package chosen). We videotape weddings all over the country so this is our chance to meet your family members and friends prior to the wedding, and to meet with the officiating clergy. Here we discuss the site's policy for video and we determine our audio needs, optimum camera locations and light requirements (we do not use artificial lighting during the ceremony). This way, at your ceremony, our job goes smoothly and in harmony with both the wedding participants and the location policies. If filming the rehearsal is not possible or is not a part of your wedding video package, we consult with your officiating clergy via telephone if

necessary.

The Wedding Day
On the wedding day itself, we arrive on site one hour before the wedding (depending on what package you have chosen) and set up the cameras, audio, dress these down and then start filming the pre-ceremony events: Interviews, if desired, outside and inside shots of your ceremony location, your family and friends arriving, etc. Once the ceremony starts, we lock down on the tripods and videotape the wedding. The groom wears (if desired) a wireless microphone (very small, black, and low profile) which is only used for the vows. We are discreet, respectful and unobtrusive.

The Reception
At the reception we don’t use lights unless absolutely necessary with gel diffusers, because this eliminates the "squint factor". We use lighting only as a last resort and rely on ambient lighting as much as possible. We record all the major events happening at the reception, and we can conduct interviews and other forms of coverage, as you desire. Totally interactive or totally discreet, we'll respond to your wishes, because it's your party!

 Editing
When we edit, we review all of your footage and prepare your video according to what we captured and your wishes. No wedding video can be produced by a "template" because no two weddings are the same. We edit your wedding with a digital non-linear system. A fully digital editing system provides you superior video and audio quality. Music is added to the rehearsal, pre-ceremony, post-ceremony/Photo Call/Meet and Greet segments, baby picture montage, music video, or other short form videos. Editing with a fully digital editing system means that later on we'll be able to give you your wedding in other, more advance formats, such as BLURAY-DVD or HDTV.

Communication is the Key
Communication is the key to everything we do for you! The more we know about what you want and what to expect at the wedding, the better the video that we'll produce for you. If it is done right the first time, it is much easier to make you happy - after all, happy Brides are our business!

Venues
We work all over the country, but our most popular venues are in the South West and London, speak to all of the local towns vicars, hoteliers, photographers, cake designers, florists, balloon makers, toastmasters, chauffeurs, stationery designers, the list goes on, and all will have a good word to say about us, we have been unobtrusive for over 25 years capturing your most treasured memories.
